We measure all of our designs by the length not width. If you choose 12" then it will be 12" long, the width is proportional to the length. 

4" is good for a pocket or infant design. 

6.5" Is good for a toddler size. 

8" is good for youth sizes. 

10.5" is good for youth xl - adult small 

11.5" is good for adult small - large 

12' is good for x-large 

14" is good for 2XL  and up

Pocket and Back matching set: 

Regular size; this size is roughly 12" wide and 14" long. This will depend on the design but neither side will excide those measurements. 

Over size; this size is roughly 14" wide and 16" long. This will depend on the design but neither side will excide those measurements.
